Fire crews in Westport were called into action on Tuesday morning, when a station wagon went up in flames, prompting an emergency response.

Two engines were dispatched from the Westport Fire Department responded to Old Road shortly before 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 26, where there was a report of a car heavily involved in fire.

According to Westport Assistant Fire Chief Jeff Gootman, firefighters quickly had the flames knocked down and the fire extinguished. No injuries were reported as a result of the fire. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
